So I was just tweeting and I saw @_Rickeh tweet this:
@_Rickeh: Shot and killed by her boyfriend? Smh. And her last tweet was about her ex. May @b_luvlee’s soul rest in peace.
That kind of stuff both saddens and angers me. Saddens me that her life was cut short. Saddens me that she died in such a gruesome way. Saddens me that her family has to deal with this horror.
It angers me that our culture glorifies stuff like that. People are proud to destroy their ex’s cars, proud of the fact that their partners are obsessed with them. “It’s not real love if the cops have never been called” seems to be our motto.
NEWSFLASH: No one owes you love. If it’s over, it’s over. Mourn, get mad, heal, move on. Don’t ruin someone’s life (and yours) over your inability to handle rejection. It’s a part of life. Things don’t always work out. Relationships end. DEAL WITH IT.
